Terms of Service
Terms governing Yomira, including no cloud hosting of complete reading works, third-party metadata ownership, aggregators, rights complaints and account use.
Effective October 5, 2026 · Version 1.0
Yomira is operated from Virginia, United States. These Terms of Service govern access to the Yomira apps, website, accounts, public catalog, community and related services. General legal notices, copyright reports and account inquiries can be sent to [email protected].
1. Agreement, scope and interpretation
By accessing or using the Service, or creating a Yomira account, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the Service. Any acceptance specifically required for account enrollment or a material terms update is separate from simply reading a public information page.
The Service includes the features offered by Yomira's operator, not every external website, database or reading source that the app can reference. References to we, us and our mean the operator of Yomira. References to you include a person using the Service and, where relevant, an organization on whose behalf that person is authorized to act.
The Privacy Policy describes how personal information is handled. Agreement to these terms does not waive privacy rights or provide consent for processing that requires separate consent. Mandatory consumer protections and rights under applicable law continue to apply.
A feature can be subject to additional instructions or specific terms displayed when you use it. Separately licensed software and third-party services remain subject to their own applicable terms. These terms do not silently replace those licenses or give rights that another rights holder has not granted.
2. What Yomira provides
Yomira is a native-first reading and library-management tool with a public information catalog and optional account, sync and community features. It can organize reading information, maintain local progress, display title metadata and work with Source Definitions, Source Packs and Connector Profiles supported by built-in Connector Engines.
Account services can support profiles, synced reading activity, shared lists, protected sessions, account controls and optional integrations. Availability depends on the platform, app version, service configuration and access permissions. A reference to a capability in these terms is not a guarantee that it is currently available to every user.
Yomira is not the publisher, author or owner of the works described in its catalog. It is not a substitute for purchasing or lawfully accessing those works from their rights holders or authorized distributors. A catalog listing is information about a work, not an entitlement to obtain the work.
3. No cloud archive or distribution of complete reading works
Yomira's cloud platform does not host or distribute complete manga chapters, comic page collections, novels, PDFs or ebooks as a public reading archive. It does not offer account storage for uploading complete reading works for distribution to other users.
When you read material from an external source, that source supplies the material according to its own operation and terms. When you import a file into the native reader, you supply the local file. Supported downloads and imported files can be stored on your own device; local device storage is not the same as storing a chapter or book on Yomira's cloud servers.
Signing in, adding a title to your library or recording a reading position does not by itself mean that a complete reading work has been uploaded to the account service. Reading metadata and account records are separate from the underlying work.
This distinction does not mean that Yomira stores no copyrighted material of any kind. The Service stores its own software and brand material, permitted user submissions and limited catalog assets such as cover images or descriptions. Those assets may be protected by copyright. The absence of a chapter-hosting service does not remove our responsibilities for material that is actually displayed or stored by the Service.
4. Catalog metadata and what an entry represents
Catalog metadata can include a work's title and alternate titles, creator and publisher names, publication dates, format, status, tags, classifications, relationships, summaries, cover artwork, database identifiers and links to external information.
We use these records to identify and distinguish works, present a browsable catalog, connect references across providers and help users locate information. A classification, maturity label, publication status or relationship is an informational assessment and can be incomplete, disputed or incorrect.
Yomira does not claim ownership of third-party metadata, cover artwork, publisher material, externally supplied descriptions or the underlying works. Their applicable rights remain with the relevant creators, publishers, contributors, data providers or other rights holders.
Some metadata consists of facts, while other material can include protected expression or protected selections and arrangements. Calling something metadata does not make every part of it free of copyright, database, contractual or other restrictions. These terms do not assign ownership of third-party material to Yomira.
5. Aggregators and upstream data providers
Yomira can obtain catalog records through aggregators such as MangaBaka and through other permitted provider, publisher or editorial sources. An aggregator can combine records and references from several upstream databases. A single catalog entry can therefore contain information originating with more than one provider.
MangaBaka distinguishes its original data from third-party provider data. Its own licensing conditions do not automatically transfer or replace the rights and terms governing upstream material. The same principle applies to other aggregators: access to their API or a downloadable snapshot is not, by itself, a grant of ownership over every included image, description or database record.
Attribution, permitted use, share-alike obligations, commercial-use conditions and other relevant requirements depend on the particular provider and material. Where a provider requires credit or identifies an upstream source, those requirements remain relevant. Consult the provider's current terms before relying on material for your own purpose.
Provider references are intended to explain provenance or help identify a record. They do not mean that the provider sponsors, endorses or operates Yomira. We do not claim a commercial license, affiliation or permission merely because a provider's name appears in the catalog.
6. Normalization, matching and editorial changes
Catalog normalization can include matching equivalent records, resolving duplicate identifiers, formatting titles, reconciling fields, correcting errors, reviewing maturity classifications and editing descriptions for consistency or readability. This process can change presentation without changing the ownership of the source material.
Rewording a synopsis, resizing a cover, converting an image format or combining provider records does not automatically erase pre-existing rights or make the original material Yomira's property. We do not claim that normalization is a universal permission to reproduce or commercially exploit protected expression.
Yomira can have rights in independently created software, original editorial contributions and original service presentation, subject to applicable licenses. Any such rights do not extend ownership claims to underlying third-party works or material that belongs to another rights holder.
A normalized record can still contain an error or reflect an outdated provider record. If you identify a factual error, inappropriate classification, attribution issue or rights concern, contact us with the Yomira URL and relevant supporting information.
7. Covers, descriptions and metadata storage
To display the catalog consistently, the Service can store and serve limited metadata assets, including cover artwork and descriptions, through its own infrastructure and storage providers. An image being served from a Yomira domain does not mean Yomira created the image, owns the work or grants unrestricted reuse of it.
Cover images and descriptions identify or describe the referenced work; they are separate from complete chapters or books. Public catalog display is not a guarantee that every reuse by a visitor, commercial product or automated system is permitted.
A source or rights holder can request a correction, credit update, replacement, restriction or removal of disputed material. We may temporarily hide an asset or entry while reviewing a report. Technical caching can mean that a removed asset does not disappear from every independent browser or third-party cache immediately.
We do not state that every catalog asset is public-domain material or that every possible use qualifies as fair use. Whether permission, a license or a legal exception supports a particular use depends on the relevant facts and law.
8. No transfer of third-party rights to users
A catalog listing, search result, cover, reference or source configuration does not grant you permission to reproduce, translate, modify, redistribute, sell or otherwise exploit a protected work. You must obtain any authorization needed for your intended activity.
The Service's own software license or access terms do not relicense an author's book, a publisher's cover, another database's protected material or a user's contribution. Any separately stated license applies only to the material and rights within its scope.
Do not assume that a work is lawfully available merely because it appears in a database, has a publicly accessible URL, is not paywalled, or has been included by an aggregator. You remain responsible for lawful access and use of material you select.
9. External sources and source configuration
You choose which supported Source Definitions, Source Packs and Connector Profiles to use. Source configuration is a description of how a supported connector interacts with a source; it is not a legal certification of that source or a promise of access to its content.
External sources control their own availability, content, accounts, geographic access conditions and service policies. They can change, restrict or discontinue access. Yomira does not guarantee that a connector will continue working or that an external source will maintain a particular catalog or chapter list.
Comply with the source's applicable terms and access requirements. Do not use Yomira to evade a paywall, obtain content without required authorization, defeat a technical protection unlawfully or ignore a legal restriction. A feature that makes an authorized interaction convenient does not remove the authorization requirement.
Source-specific credentials and sessions are distinct from Yomira account credentials. We do not request that you send passwords or recovery codes to support staff to diagnose a source issue.
10. Local files, imports and offline reading
You may use supported local import and offline features only with material you are authorized to possess and use. You are responsible for files you import, the permissions attached to them and compliance with applicable law.
A local reader does not grant ownership of the file's contents or permission to redistribute them. Local downloads should not be treated as a public sharing mechanism. Account progress sync is not a cloud backup of the full downloaded work.
Keep your own backups of files and information that matter to you. Local storage can be affected by device changes, app removal, operating-system behavior, storage limits or file corruption. We cannot restore a file that exists only on your device and has not been provided to a supported storage feature.
11. Eligibility, age and accurate information
You must be at least 13 to create an account, satisfy any higher minimum age required where you live and have any legally required parental or guardian permission. Do not create an account using a false date of birth or someone else's identity.
A minimum account age does not authorize access to adult material. Additional restrictions can apply by content, law, platform or feature. Blurring an image or hiding a category is a presentation control, not a waiver of age requirements.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to act for it. You may not claim to be an administrator, staff member, creator, publisher or rights holder when you are not.
12. Accounts, verification and credentials
Provide accurate information required for enrollment and maintain control of the account's contact and recovery methods. Keep passwords, two-factor methods, registered devices and recovery information secure. Do not disclose authentication secrets in a public post or support request.
We may require email verification, supported device verification, two-factor authentication or another proportionate check for account creation, sensitive changes or suspicious access. A trusted session can have an expiry or be revoked after a security event.
You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. You are not automatically responsible for every unauthorized act in all circumstances regardless of law; applicable legal protections remain available. Tell us promptly about suspected compromise so we can investigate and protect access.
An administrator's access is not permission to bypass another person's privacy or access controls. Role and permission assignments are governed by the operator and can be changed or removed.
13. Sync, lists, activity and service records
Supported account features can send reading metadata and return merged progress or activity to your other devices. This processing is described in the Privacy Policy and remains separate from public distribution of a complete reading work.
Sync can be delayed by connectivity, conflicting changes, server conditions or version differences. Review important changes and maintain independent copies where necessary. We do not warrant that every device will always have identical information immediately after a change.
A private visibility setting limits the normal audience of a record; it does not establish end-to-end encryption against the operator or exempt the record from lawful security and support access. Public lists and activity can be viewed and copied by their audience.
14. User submissions and permissions
You retain the rights you hold in reviews, lists, profile material, avatars and other original contributions you submit. You must have the rights or authorization needed to submit and display them. You cannot grant us rights in another person's material that you do not possess.
You grant the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, process, format and display your submitted material as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support and moderate the features you use. Display remains subject to the feature's visibility rules and your choices. This is an operational permission, not a transfer of your ownership.
The permission continues while needed for those operations and for limited legal, security or retention purposes described in the Privacy Policy. Deletion or account closure is subject to those processes and does not retract copies made independently by other users.
This user-submission permission does not give us ownership of aggregator metadata or publisher artwork. Rights and licenses concerning catalog imports are assessed separately from your agreement as a user.
15. Public visibility and communication
Before publishing a profile, image, review or list, consider who can see it. Public material can be indexed by search engines, used in link previews, cached or copied outside the Service. We cannot guarantee removal of independent copies after you change visibility.
Do not publish someone else's private information, confidential correspondence, credentials or sensitive documents without lawful authority. A request for support is not an invitation to disclose unnecessary information about another person.
Communicate respectfully. The Service is not an emergency service and cannot guarantee immediate review of every report or message. Where a situation requires emergency assistance, use the appropriate emergency or legal channels.
16. Acceptable use and prohibited activity
Do not use the Service to commit unlawful acts, infringe intellectual-property rights, facilitate exploitation, harass others, threaten violence or publish illegal material. Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent a professional, staff or rights-holder relationship.
Do not attempt unauthorized access to accounts or infrastructure, collect private account information without authority, misuse recovery workflows or fraudulently obtain roles or benefits. Do not knowingly submit malicious files or use an image, ticket or other feature to compromise a device or system.
Do not evade reasonable request and storage limits, generate abusive traffic, send spam, automate deceptive account creation or manipulate reviews and community activity. Do not use upload features to create a concealed public archive of reading works or evade content restrictions.
These restrictions do not remove rights that applicable law grants, including rights relating to lawful security research, software interoperability or an applicable software license. Research does not authorize access to other users' private information or destructive testing of a live service without permission.
17. API access, automation and capacity limits
An accessible endpoint is not a promise of unrestricted or permanent API access. Authentication, permissions, request budgets, storage limits and feature availability can apply to supported interfaces. Separate API or provider terms can apply where displayed or agreed.
Do not use automation to avoid verification, exceed limits through rotating accounts, enumerate private data or overwhelm infrastructure. Do not treat technical access to a catalog response as permission to redistribute protected provider material in bulk.
We may restrict abusive clients, adjust reasonable limits and require a separate arrangement for a high-volume integration. We do not guarantee that a preview or undocumented endpoint will remain stable. Any changes remain subject to applicable commitments and mandatory law.
18. Uploads and finite image history
Image upload features are for supported profile or community purposes, not general file hosting. Format, size, content and request limits can apply. Animated files are subject to the same ownership and acceptable-use rules as still images, including all of their frames.
Avatar history is finite and depends on the currently configured allowance. An earlier version outside that allowance can be removed, and we do not guarantee permanent restoration of every image you have used. Keep your own copy if you want to retain it.
An image can be rejected, restricted or removed for safety, rights, moderation or technical reasons. A valid file format does not mean the submitted content complies with these terms.
19. Moderation, reports and support decisions
We may investigate reports and take proportionate action to enforce these terms, meet legal obligations and protect users or the Service. Actions can include restricting a contribution, hiding an asset, limiting a feature, revoking a role or suspending account access.
We may act before completing an investigation when necessary to address a security threat, credible rights concern or risk of harm. Where appropriate, we will provide information about the decision and a way to contact us. We need not disclose another person's private data or sensitive security evidence to explain an action.
If you believe an action was mistaken, contact [email protected] with the account or URL, the action in question and relevant information. Submitting an appeal does not guarantee reversal, but it allows the matter to be reviewed.
20. Copyright complaints and rights-holder requests
We respect the rights of authors, artists, publishers, translators, photographers, database contributors and other rights holders. Send reports about material on Yomira to [email protected], preferably with Copyright report in the subject.
To help us evaluate a report, include:
- Your name, an email address at which you can be reached, and your relationship to the relevant rights holder.
- Identification of the protected work or material and an explanation of the right you believe is affected.
- The exact Yomira URL or other information sufficient to locate each disputed item; a title alone may not identify the relevant asset.
- The reason you believe the use is unauthorized and any useful documentation or official reference.
- The requested action, such as removal, restriction, corrected credit or replacement of an asset.
- For a formal statutory notice, the signature and declarations required by the applicable procedure, including authority to act where required.
We may request clarification if a report is incomplete, restrict access while reviewing it, remove or replace material, or correct attribution. Where required by an applicable formal notice procedure, we follow the relevant legal requirements. General correspondence does not replace a statutory procedure or expand any statutory immunity.
A complaint about an external site's chapter or book should identify that site's operator as appropriate. We can review our own listing, reference or asset, but cannot delete a file from an independent source merely because the source is mentioned by Yomira.
21. Disputed removals, misuse of reports and repeat infringement
If you believe material was removed in error, contact us with the affected item and a specific explanation of your authority, license, mistaken identification or other basis for the request. An assertion that material was found online is not, by itself, evidence of authorization.
Where a formal counter-notice process applies, its legal requirements and consequences apply. We may forward relevant notice information as required by law or to allow the dispute to be addressed. Do not include unnecessary unrelated private information in a report.
We may decline to restore disputed material while reviewing an unresolved rights concern or where restoration would conflict with law or these terms. We can restrict accounts that repeatedly submit infringing material or abuse reporting procedures, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
Do not knowingly make false claims of ownership or submit deceptive reports to remove lawful material or harm another person. Nothing here prevents a genuine rights holder from making a good-faith complaint.
22. Other intellectual property and open-source components
Yomira's original branding, service presentation and software are owned by the relevant operator, contributors or licensors as applicable. Third-party trademarks and work titles remain associated with their respective rights holders. A mention used to identify a work or provider does not imply sponsorship.
Do not use Yomira branding to misrepresent affiliation, impersonate staff or present your own service as an official Yomira service. Any permission to use branding must be within its stated scope.
Software components can be governed by separate open-source or other licenses. Those licenses control the rights they grant, including any applicable redistribution or modification rights. These terms do not override those rights or impose ownership over third-party metadata merely because it is delivered by our software.
23. Optional integrations, Discord and roles
Discord sign-in, account linking, server-role synchronization and other integrations are available only where configured and supported. An external service has its own account rules and privacy practices. Connecting it does not transfer control of that service to Yomira.
Roles and benefits depend on current eligibility and configuration. Linking an identity or receiving a role does not guarantee permanent access, a future paid benefit or a right to bypass moderation. Role changes can occur when eligibility or the connection changes.
Unlinking a Yomira account does not necessarily erase messages or records held by Discord or its server administrators. Review the relevant external controls when you want to change that relationship.
24. Communications, notifications and optional paid features
We can send account, security and service communications necessary for supported operations. Optional notifications are subject to the settings provided by the app, website or operating system. Do not treat a security message as a request to disclose a password or recovery code.
These terms do not by themselves create a paid subscription, charge you a fee or promise supporter benefits. If a paid feature is offered, its price, billing period, cancellation conditions and material terms must be presented through the applicable purchase process.
App-store or payment-provider terms may also apply to a transaction. Nothing here limits a refund, cancellation or other consumer right that applicable law or a binding purchase term provides. A role label alone is not a complete agreement for a paid service.
25. Preview releases, updates and compatibility
Preview, staging and TestFlight environments can change rapidly and may have defects, incomplete features or interrupted availability. Use a preview with appropriate care and do not rely on it as the only copy of important local information.
We may publish updates needed for security, compatibility or operation. An outdated client can lose access to a feature where continuing access would create risk or be technically unsupported. This does not authorize arbitrary use of your local files or unrelated device information.
We do not guarantee compatibility with every operating system, external source, provider schema or file format. Feature notices and supported-version information can provide more specific guidance.
26. Service changes and events outside reasonable control
We can adjust features, apply reasonable capacity limits, maintain infrastructure or discontinue part of the Service, subject to applicable commitments and law. Where required or reasonably practicable, we will provide notice of material changes affecting access.
External source outages, provider changes, network failures, app-store processes and other events outside our reasonable control can affect functionality. We do not guarantee that every interruption can be prevented or resolved immediately.
This section does not remove obligations that applicable law does not allow us to exclude, or excuse the operator from commitments that legally remain enforceable.
27. Suspension, termination and account closure
You can stop using the Service and request account closure through available controls or [email protected]. The handling of account information, local files, stored artifacts and retained records is explained in the Privacy Policy.
We may restrict or suspend access for violations, abuse, credible security threats or legal requirements. Immediate action may be necessary to prevent harm. Where appropriate, we will provide a way to ask about or challenge an action without disclosing sensitive information belonging to others.
Account closure does not automatically erase local files from your devices or independent copies of public contributions. It also does not retroactively cancel a lawful obligation, an accrued claim or a separately agreed transaction.
Provisions intended to continue, including ownership boundaries, confidentiality obligations that otherwise apply, lawful liability limits and dispute provisions, survive to the extent needed and permitted by law.
28. Disclaimers and limits of assurance
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided as available without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly secure or compatible with every device and source. We do not guarantee that catalog metadata is complete or that external material is accurate or lawfully supplied.
No catalog reference is legal advice, an ownership determination, a license certificate or a guarantee of a provider's compliance. You should independently evaluate permissions needed for your intended use.
Nothing in these disclaimers excludes a warranty, standard of care or consumer right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Statements about technical safeguards are not a promise that compromise or data loss is impossible.
29. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of the Service, including loss associated with an unavailable external source, interrupted access or loss of information.
To that same extent, total liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to amounts you paid the operator for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not impose a limit on a claim where applicable law prohibits it.
The exclusions and limits do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including protected claims relating to fraud, intentional misconduct or other non-excludable liability. Mandatory consumer remedies remain available. This section does not require you to surrender rights merely because you use a free feature.
30. Governing law and resolution of disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, and applicable United States federal law, without applying conflict-of-laws rules that would select another jurisdiction's law. Mandatory protections under laws applicable where you live remain available and are not waived by this choice.
If you have a concern, please contact [email protected] with a clear description so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us does not prevent you from using a legal remedy, filing a required notice or acting within an applicable deadline.
These terms do not require binding arbitration, impose a class-action waiver or prevent proceedings in a court that has lawful jurisdiction. We do not promise that every dispute can be resolved through support correspondence alone.
31. Revisions, notices and continued use
We may revise these terms as the Service changes. Published versions identify their effective date. We will give notice of material changes and request renewed acceptance where appropriate or legally required.
Changes do not retroactively eliminate accrued rights or claims. If you do not agree to a future version that applies to continued use, you can stop using the Service and request account closure, subject to applicable rights and separately agreed obligations.
Notices can be provided through supported service messages, account contact information or published policy pages as appropriate. Maintain an accessible account email so necessary notices can reach you.
32. General provisions and contact
If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision in one situation does not automatically waive the ability to enforce it in another. These terms do not create an employment, partnership or agency relationship between a user and the operator.
If operation of the Service is transferred, applicable agreements, privacy requirements and mandatory legal protections govern how that transfer affects accounts and records. A transfer does not give a new operator ownership of third-party works or negate the providers' licenses.
For account matters, legal notices, copyright concerns, catalog corrections and questions about these terms, contact [email protected]. Identify the affected account or URL and the nature of your request. Never send authentication secrets as proof of ownership or authority.
